Voluntary Youth Services – Devon (VYS) is a well respected specialist infrastructure network for those voluntary and community sector groups that work with and for young people. Established in 1960’s VYS is a diverse network of other youth networks and youth groups / organisations that work with and for young people. Infrastructure organisations such as VYS provide structures, systems, relationships, people, knowledge and skills to support and develop, coordinate, represent and promote front line organisations, thus enabling local groups to deliver their missions more effectively.

VYS Devon Aims are:-

1. To provide practical help to maintain and develop the children and young people’s voluntary sector to enhance work with and the services provided for children and young people;

2. To support, develop and promote collaboration and networking to enable the sector to access and make appropriate use of a wide range of resources and to help the sector to value and make the best use of the people that can support their work with young people;

3. The development of youth work policy and promoting best practice;

4. Enabling the children and young people’s voluntary sector to have a voice and influence;
