Acceptable Behaviour Policy
The Market Centre aims to create an environment where all young people can feel safe and supported. To achieve this we need to work to a level of acceptable behavioural standards. The following guidelines apply within the centre and the surrounding area.
The Market Centre will NOT tolerate any young person coming to the centre if:
The Market Centre considers the following as SERIOUS MISBEHAVIOUR:
These are our guidelines that we aim to follow but we reserve the right to increase or decrease the sanctions as we see fit.
The Market Centre will NOT tolerate any young person coming to the centre if:
- They have been drinking alcohol or taking illegal drugs.
- They are in possession of alcohol or illegal drugs
- They try to use or sell drugs anywhere in the vicinity of the centre.
- They have been involved in any gang/group activity, which has led to the intimidation or physical harm of any individual's.
The Market Centre considers the following as SERIOUS MISBEHAVIOUR:
- Vile or abusive language
- Fighting
- Damage to property
- Physical/sexual harassment
- Behaviour which will or may have the potential to cause serious physical/emotional harm
- Withdrawal of privileges e.g. young person is banned from a specific activity for a period of time
- Appropriate authorities informed if necessary e.g. Police
- Exclusion from The Market Centre for a period of time, this will be determined by the seriousness of the behaviour.
