Army cadets experience action and adventure by the bucket-load and get to try things that other teenagers can only dream of. Walking through the doors of the Tiverton Army Cadet detachment is like walking into a different world filled with opportunities. Fancy learning how to find your way around a weapon? Not a problem. How about camping out and living on rations like real soldiers? There's plenty of that too. You can also learn first aid skills, take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and even gain some qualifications. But the best part about life as a cadet is the action. From abseiling to archery, it's all part of life in the ACF.

The Army Cadet Force is a national voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the Army and we use much of their equipment and facilities, but there is absolutely no obligation to join any of the armed services at any time.

There is a £25.00 joining fee, but each cadet night is free. The uniform is loaned free of charge, but must be returned when you leave the Army Cadets. You will need to buy a pair of boots, as these are NOT provided.

Tiverton Army Cadet Detachment meet at the Cadet Centre in King Street, at 7pm every Monday and Wednesday night. The detachment recruits anyone aged 12 – 18.
